The Socioeconomic Status And Parenting Essay - 1796 Words

I received a few advices for my paper from my peer. First, he thinks my work is more like an informative paper than an argument paper. I add more my views and thoughts for this final draft. Second, my peer thinks I need to add a clearer thesis statement. I did use â€Å"the socioeconomic status difference is the key causation† as my thesis, but I guess it is not clear to my audiences. I want to prove that socioeconomic status difference is the main causation of achievement gap in this paper. He also point out that he could see why parenting is important for the kids, but it is hard to tell the connection between socioeconomic status and parenting. So I revised to thesis statement to â€Å"the socioeconomic status and parenting are the keys for minimize the achievement gap†. I also add a paragraph to explain why parents’ view one education (a part of social value) is important for students. My peer also pointed out that I do not have enough evidence to support my opposing view. So I did more research and add sources to help my counterargument. Last but not least, my professor suggested there were a few citation problems. I went back and fixed my in text citation and citation page too.
